Artists of the Month

Through Echo Arts, Westchester Arc offers fine arts instruction to individuals, 16 and up, who have developmental disabilities. Students work with a variety of media, including paint, pencil, pastel and paper collage, to create works that express their individuality and teach them organizational skills. Exceptional artwork is showcased in our annual art show, traveling arts program and artist of the month displays.

We recognize Omar B. at our Katzenberg Center

spacer

Omar lives in our Inverness residence and began his art studies in 2004. His paintings are filled with vivid color and simple movements.

Omar is our newest explorer of two-dimensional space.

We recognize Susan G. at our Yonkers Center

Susan lives in our Cortlandt residence and began her art studies in April 2006.  She immediately demonstrated her playful personality through her colorful artwork.
See if you can find the image of a face that is an added feature in most of her paintings

Special tribute to Israel Stander

Israel Stander, a resident of our Inverness House, passed away on September 5.  From the beginning, Israel communicated his unique point of view.  He expressed himself through colorful patterns and created new paintings every week in class.  We will miss him.
