Richard S. Takes Ride
of His Life

Richard S., a participant in Westchester Arc’s day habilitation program, loves everything about automobiles. Often, he can be spotted sketching a sports car, “Googling” photos, building a model or checking out the latest SUVs at the local car dealership.

One day, while on his way to a community activity, Richard spotted a limousine. Excited, he turned to Habilitation Instructor Melinda Burton and said, “I want to be in a car like that one day.”

Determined to help, Melinda began making calls, and Top Class Limousine in Yonkers agreed to put its wheels in motion.

Richard’s big day began with a tour
of the company’s showroom,
where he got an inside look at their fleet of vehicles. He was particularly taken with the Rolls Royce, which he had never seen up close. Staff were impressed with Richard’s automotive expertise.

He was then chauffeured around town—a ride he’ll remember for the rest of his life.

“This is awesome. I’m living large,”
he said. “This is a dream come true.”
