Artists of the Month

Through Echo Arts, Westchester Arc offers fine arts instruction to individuals, 16 and up, who have developmental disabilities. Students work with a variety of media, including paint, pencil, pastel and paper collage, to create works that express their individuality and teach them organizational skills. Exceptional artwork is showcased in our annual art show, traveling arts program and artist of the month displays.

We recognize Laureen at our White Plains Center

Laureen is a resident of our Inverness House.  She began studying art in January 2002. She is an advanced student and demonstrates the ability to work with paint using many different tools.  Laureen enjoys working with sponges and specialty brushes to create a textured look.  We look forward to more of her creative pieces.

We recognize Jamie at our Mount Kisco Center

Jamie is a member of our Bryant 5 residence.  She began her studies in August 2007. From the start, she demonstrated great energy and expression in her artwork. She likes stars and circles and uses them often when painting on the canvas.  We expect to see more wonderful paintings from this new student.

We recognize Chris at our Yonkers Center

Chris is a resident of our Borcher residence.  He began his studies in May 2001.  He continues to paint unique and recognizable abstract drawings using a variety of bold colors and designs.  The detail to his work is visually fascinating.  We look forward to many more beautiful pieces from him.
