WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK—July 24, 2007—eDocNY, a Westchester Arc document management business, celebrated the grand opening of its new workspace on Thursday, July 24, hosting an open house at 388 Tarrytown Road in White Plains. Special guest Paul Feiner, town supervisor of Greenburgh, led the ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
eDocNY, created three years ago by Westchester Arc, is an innovative business venture that provides companies with cost-effective lifecycle document management services, including scanning, microfilming, record box storage and document destruction solutions. It is comprised of individuals with and without disabilities. Revenue generated through eDocNY supports Westchester Arc services that help people with developmental disabilities to achieve their potential based on personal choices, abilities and interests.
The former space at 39 Westmoreland Avenue in White Plains no longer met the growing demand for eDocNY services. In the last year, eDocNY has provided electronic scanning solutions to a number of public entities and private firms—Maier, Markey, & Menashi, LLP., and the New York State Office of Court Administration—and its client base continues to grow.
eDocNY’s new office keeps pace with the digital age, featuring state-of-the art equipment suited for life-cycle document management ranging from low-tech solutions, such as shredding and box storage to hi-tech digitization enabling database integration and online storage. It is larger than the former space by a few hundred feet and boasts a bright, airy work environment that helps boost morale and productivity.
Westchester Arc is the oldest and largest agency in the county serving children and adults with developmental disabilities such as autistic spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, mental retardation, cerebral palsy and learning disabilities. The agency has long been committed to social inclusion because of the benefits to the entire community.
