Thanks to the hard work of a committee of volunteers, parents, and staff members, and the generous support of many friends, the 11th Annual Golfing for Kids netted over $120,000 for pre-schoolers who attend Arc of Westchester’s Children’s School for Early Development. The school provides educational, social and support services for children with autism and other developmental disabilities, from birth to five years of age and their families throughout Westchester County.

Over 140 guests played golf on a beautiful sunny day and 300 attended a banquet at the Brynwood Golf and Country Club in Armonk, NY. The annual event, hosted by the Arc of Westchester Foundation and The Children's School for Early Development, was once again a huge success. This golf outing is vital since it supports underfunded programs at the school.

Mary Calvi, WCBS News Anchor and friend of the school, welcomed guests and thanked them for their ongoing support of this important cause.
The Mauro Family of Pelham Manor received the Family Partner Award for their continued commitment to children with developmental disabilities and their families. Ralph and Annette Mauro have been longtime supporters of the Children’s School for Early Development. “The therapists, special education teachers and advocates were the foundation for our daughter’s success when she first entered the preschool over 15 years ago.” said Annette Mauro.
Dr. Peter Richel received the first annual Caring for Kids Award. Dr. Richel is a tremendous resource to the school as their volunteer Medical Director, and his musical talents and generous donations to the school have helped maintain quality service for the children and their families. Dr. Richel is a pediatric physician affiliated with Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco.
The Business Partner Award was presented to Broadview Networks of Rye Brook. The company has been a financial supporter for over 11 years, to the Children’s School as well as to the agency’s capital campaign.
Over 80 silent auction items tempted guests at the banquet. Raffle and live auction prizes included an Irish castle getaway, private yacht excursion, exotic island villa and Saturday Night Live tickets. We are so grateful to all the friends and supporters of this wonderful annual event.
