Self-Advocacy Summit Celebrates Choice

Nearly 200 self-advocates, family members and social service professionals attended “My Life, My Choice” on March 7 at the Crowne Plaza, White Plains. There was standing room only in workshops on self-advocacy, assistive technology and community involvement. John Hockenberry, former NBC journalist, and Sue Swenson, executive director, The Arc of the U.S., addressed attendees during lunch.

Rooms were filled with self-advocates listening to each other and to social service professionals.
