Workshop #1
Ages 18 Months to 3 Years: From Early Intervention to Pre-School
Making the transition from the early intervention system to the Committee on Pre-School Special Education (CPSE).

This presentation will address details regarding the transition from Early Intervention (EI) to the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), in an effort to assist parents through the process.
The panel will discuss:
- How and when to contact the school district
- Options available in selecting a pre-school evaluation site
- What components might be included in the evaluation process
- How parents can and will be involved in the process
The panel will also talk about the range of service and program options available under the CPSE, as well as focus attention on the Least Restrictive Option.

Ages 5-15: Yearly Transitions
An interactive, mock Committee for Special
Education (CSE) meeting. Learn legal, negotiation
and practical strategies.

Ben Golden, Associate Executive Director of Public Affairs, NYSARC, will explore current state and federal legislative initiatives that will affect the lives of people with developmental disabilities in our community.
