2011 Annual Report
The theme of this year's annual report celebrates Lives of Distinction in the Community We Serve.
‘Lives of Distinction’ puts forth the vision that every person with a disability has a distinct contribution to make to the world. When we discover and develop these contributions and make connections between people and places in the community, then these contributions become visible, and people’s lives are enriched.
Consequently, people with disabilities are no longer seen as “different.” Instead they can live lives of distinction as people who are admired and respected by others. A life of distinction is not extraordinary or grand; it is about ordinary people, finding simple beauty and fulfillment in life, and making more of it together with others.
