Dear Friends,

As the needs and expectations of people with developmental disabilities have evolved over
the past 55 years, Westchester Arc has correspondingly evolved to meet our
consumers’ increasingly complex needs and requirements. Over the years, there has been
a movement of services from large, highly protective day activity to paid work, volunteer opportunities and recreational activities in the community.
Services are increasingly driven by choices, and many of our consumers can tell you, each in his or her own way, that Westchester Arc has changed their lives. Westchester Arc has inspired them to discover their abilities, uncover a hidden strength or build their self-esteem. Our vision is that children and adults with developmental disabilities are fully included in all aspects of community life and, together with their families, make the necessary choices to direct their lives. Our corresponding vision for Westchester Arc is that it is nationally recognized as a leading organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities by reaching out to all who need support.
This campaign, Envision Possibilities, the first capital fundraising effort in our history, will help us realize these aspirations. With your help, we will raise $5.5 million for a new facility in Hawthorne, New York, and another $2 million for a Fund for the Future that will ensure financial security for our programs. The success of this campaign is crucial to ensuring that Westchester Arc is prepared to meet the challenges of this century and able to respond to the evolving needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families.
Every gift to the campaign has an impact on bettering human lives. I ask you to join me in this historic effort.
Sincerely,
