The Vision:

The Right Plan at the Right Time

The new building's lobby will convey a sense of opportunity.

Through the decades, the expectations of people with developmental disabilities have risen as their accomplishments have grown. Now Westchester Arc needs a facility with the adaptable space needed to collaborate on services shaped by individual choice. The agency needs a home that is welcoming and inspiring to people with developmental disabilities and their families as they seek increased involvement with the greater community. We have already purchased land for this resource center in Hawthorne, New York.

Objective #1:
A new facility that is a “Gateway to the Community”

  • A warm and welcoming lobby and reception area

  • Space that is adaptable to a variety of future uses

  • An expanded and prominently situated Charles R. Kingsley Life Planning Center

  • More space for career planning and transitional services

  • Expanded facilities for conferences, advocacy events, networking and training

  • Creative use of technology

  • Outdoor space for group sessions and counseling

  • Space to showcase the creative abilities of individuals with developmental disabilities
    Enjoying life's riches.

  • Centralized transportation options

  • Adequate bus access and parking

Fundraising goal

for the new building:

$5,500,000
